Joining the GHMP Committee
Applications to join the 2012 GHMP Committee have now closed!
See below for background to the GHMP program, instructions on how to apply, and brief position descriptions. Please contact JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING if you have any questions. We will endeavour to ensure that all enthusiastic and interested applicants are given an opportunity to contribute to the program.
Background to GHMP:
Earlier this year, in response to growing interest in the global health field, Ignite launched the Global Health Mentoring Program; a program which is the first of its kind in Australia.
The program involves a year-long mentoring partnership, with selected students being matched with global health professionals based in Melbourne. The first edition of the program currently involves ten Monash medical students and ten leading global health professionals. The mentoring partnerships have each developed partnership goals and are working towards the completion of four discussion modules. At the conclusion of the program, students will submit an article on an area of interest to the Global Health Mentoring Magazine.
Are you interested in joining the GHMP Committee?
Ignite is currently seeking applications from students who are interested in becoming a part of the 2012 GHMP Committee. If you are interested in applying, please send the following information to JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING by Monday 19 December.
- Your name and year level
- The position that you are applying for
- ONE paragraph describing why you are interested in being involved
- Whether you feel you will be able to commit to the year-long involvement
- Any previous relevant experience (note: previous experience is not a prerequisite for the positions)
Please note that current participants in the program will not be able to be part of the GHMP committee, and students who are part of the committee will not be able to apply for the 2012-2013 edition of the program. However, many other opportunities will be made available to you.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING . If you would like to be part of the committee but none of the positions listed below catch your eye, you could also consider being a General Committee Member and help out in various capacities throughout the year. We will endeavour to ensure that all interested and enthusiastic individuals have an opportunity to be involved in the program if they so wish.
