Always wanted to get involved in global health and find an outlet for all that pent up passion? The Global Health Mentoring Program is here!!!

The Global Health Mentoring Program consists of a year-long mentoring partnership with selected students being matched with global health professionals based in Melbourne. The mentoring partnership will be expected to develop individualised partnership goals and to complete four discussion modules. The modules are aimed at stimulating further research and discussion between the student and the mentor. Applications open in April of each year.

Background

Medical students are constantly seeking opportunities to become further involved in the global health field, whether it involves joining their Global Health Group, attending national and international conferences, campaigning for global health in the curriculum or being involved outside the medical curricula. However, there still appears to be a lack of opportunities to truly engage with global health professionals and to get a closer view at what it takes to work in this field.

In response to these growing needs, Ignite is excited to announce the launch its Global Health Mentoring Program,  which aims to address the growing needs of Monash medical students with regards to global health by filling an educational gap on core global health subjects, initiatives and careers and providing an opportunity to interact one-on-one with an experienced individual.

What is the program?
