AMREP WORLD HEALTH DAY The theme for this year's WHO World Health Day and the 4th AMREP Global Health Conference is "The impact of urbanisation on the health of the world's population". The conference will be held on World Health Day, Wednesday April 7, 2010 at Ormond Hall, Prahran. The conference will have two inter-related themes:

Trivia Night 2010!! Date: Wednesday February 24 AGM & Elections 17th October (Applications close on the 16th) Ever considered yourself passionate about international health? Ever thought you wanted to be more involved in Ignite- running events, coming up with ideas, finding new directions? Here is your opportunity. Nominations for 2010 positions are now open and will close next Friday, October 16 at 11.59pm. The elections will be held at the AGM on Saturday, 17th October, 11am, Menzies Building. IFMSA Applications October 31st Want to meet medical students from around the world and discuss global health issues on the ultimate international forum? The International Federation of Medical Students is calling for applicants to attend the IFMSA General Assembly and the IFMSA Regional Asia Pacific Meeting. Both will be held in Bangkok, Thailand in March 2010, however they are two separate events. Click here for more information!
Registration for Inaugural Gathering- Doctors for the Environment Australia (DEA) October 23rd DEA students are hosting an inaugural gathering for medical students and interested others in Melbourne this December from the 5th to 7th, just prior to Copenhagen (COP) 15 (www.cop15.dk). It would be wonderful if you could attend. The purpose of the gathering is to raise awareness, educate and strategise collective action in the area of environmental health for 2010. We have some interesting speakers - Colleen Hartland MLA, health economist Lisa Gold, DEA honorary secretary David Shearman, MAPW head Dr Bill Williams, various other DEA members and academics. Registration is $55 for 3 days or $20 per day (lunch included) and accommodation via billeting with Victorian DEA student members. Friends4Fiji Initiative “The Initiative was started in July 2009 by a group of enthusiastic first year medical students at Monash University, Melbourne, after attending a global health conference that invited them to “Challenge Your World”.
