Are you passionate about asylum seeker and refugee health? Are you confused by the system currently discussed in the media? Are you interested in interacting in a social and health context with regards to these communities?
We would love to see you at our Crossing Borders information evening next Friday 30th March.
We are an international medical student-run organisation which started last year at Monash, for the first time in Australia! This year, we are expanding to incorporate representatives from Melbourne, Deakin, Monash Gippsland, Monash Biomed and Health Sciences Societies, it would be great to have you on board!
Education sessions, sport and social activities at detention centres, assisting with teaching English, buddy systems, small groups of medical students teaching newly arrived refugees about the hospital system, anti-natal care, immunisations and more....
You can be a part of Crossing Borders for 2012 as a committee member, as a volunteer, as a program leader or in any capacity that you see fit!
Come to our information session to learn about how you can become involved. For more information, click here or email Genna Verbeek at
We look forward to seeing you there!
